I've only flown old CW once, but like Dougzz I was very comfortable on my A380 back from Miami, but had one of the best seats (in my view) - 59K.
Upper deck window (so large storage bins)
Rearward facing (planes cruise angled slightly up, so on a forward facing seat you're tipped slightly backwards on a completely flat bed)
By the bulkhead, so no one stepping over me
The seat next to me was also empty, so I didn't have to endure awkward eye contact during take off/landing.

I think I actually preferred it slightly to CS, at least for an overnight flight because your feet aren't wedged into a box under the seat in front.

I think I'd have had a very different experience in a middle/middle seat on the main deck - I think i'd feel uncomfortably close lying down so close to a stranger, or even worse someone I knew!
