I also believe their modems support up to 50Mbps and with the competition the lines of Inmarsat are facing from Starlink you'd think they'd just be giving their customers extra bandwidth to keep them happy..
Given that other than the upcoming Amazon Kupier cluster, Starlink doesn't have much competition for bandwdith or latency. And Starlink can compete transoceanic with with fibre for latency and in some situations may be lower latency given fibre is only about 2/3 the speed of light
Given the Starlink contract is signed. The opportunity for Immarsat looking after AirNZ to keep the contract is long gone.
Really if you are an airline or shipping line Starlink is really the only option unless Immarsat and the like give heavy discounts.
