And now to the room. The corridors are still historic, at least in principle.

The entrance to our suite.

The Duplex Suites are between 45 and 55 square meters in size. We must have been given a smaller one.

On the gallery there was a seating area and a work area.

A huge window overlooking the river dominated the room, and the height of the room was impressive.

The stairs led down to the sleeping area.

When I saw the bed and the small distance to the walls, I was shocked.

The view was OK, but it wasn't really great.

The bathroom had no bathtub, but 2 sinks.

I found the furniture execution shockingly cheap. All laminated pressboard, no wood.

What do you do as housekeeping when there is no space in the bathroom due to a lack of proper hanging options? Do you just throw the robes on the guests' ironed clothes?

In any case, housekeeping was rather poor. On the first day, we were out of the room from noon to 5 p.m., so they didn't think it necessary to clean the room. When we were out again from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., there was no turn-down service either. By then, we were already running low on toilet paper. After a complaint, the room was then cleaned, but rather superficially. The garbage bag was still standing at the top of the room (you can see it at some pictures), which I then put in the hallway.
At least there were nice coasters.

I definitely didn't like the room. It was too small and, due to its duplex form, doubly impractical. In addition, all the “wooden parts”, with the exception of the historic ceiling, were just cheap plastic-laminated pressboard, a mediocre bathroom and nothing special at all. If you pay €800 per night for it, you can't help but be annoyed. I was annoyed several times not to have at least taken the Prestige Suite. On the other hand, I suspect that it wouldn't have been much better and I would have been even more upset if I had spent another €4000. So that was probably the better choice.

P.S. My memory card broke down, so many of the pictures I shot at check-in were deleted.
