That will work then, based on my own experience. I've done exactly the same with an overnight flight to DXB, forcing the extra night beforehand, even though I arrived the next morning. No issues with the double TPs crediting.
The hotel even gave me a late checkout so it was quite nice to get my head down for a few hours, as I am rubbish at sleeping on planes...
