That happened to me once when I flew KL back in August. It "confirmed" my new seat selection at H-72 when the seats up front open to Gold membres, and yet it placed me back in the old one and blocked off my new choice too.

At the end it didn't matter due to a swap of appareil at H-20, but you're not alone.
