Those two points are not related.
Admittedly, I have only taken CX in Y since covid, but have also experienced lacklustre service on most of my flights compared to before.
But it's not because of mainlander or not. Before covid I had good service from experienced mainlander FAs. Recently I had poor service from Thai, Japanese, Taiwanese etc cabin crew which is down to inexperience or maybe lower quality of training.
I haven't had any mainland pilots on CX, they have been HKers and Americans (even on Europe and Australia flights which are where I go).
