I will say, It is refreshing to relax as I am experiencing that today. I just finished my LTP a few months ago and I am literally just now rebooking my 8-night Spring vacation to a non-Marriott property. While I am losing out on the points, I'd pay about the same in real $ as the value of the points and I'm staying at a nicer hotel, in a better location, with a way better breakfast. I've been very ride or die with Marriott the past 3 years as LTP became realistic (and that was never a goal until I got that close), but now that I have it, I will be more selective if Marriott isn't competitive in value/service/something! (e.g. for this trip, my Marriott choice was a bit less central, no chance at an upgrade, a just ok breakfast, and I don't need an early check-in or late check-out. All that for a bit more money on top.)
