I recently flew HKG-SYD and found the service rather good, although I am one that prefers to be left alone and will wave someone down when I need something. However the crew did clear away items and asked if I wanted anything else whenever we interacted. This might be due to my diamond status. I do recall another flight previously HKG-CDG when service took a long time, where my table was set but food arrived not so promptly. Not sure if this is a sign things are improving or that certain regions have different crew allocations, but I thoroughly enjoy the way CX does things.
It's been a while since I have flown SQ or QR but I recall things were not as impressive as things are made out to be, for me at least. MH crews are certainly more personable and have enjoyed their warmth on flights.
