Strange Rebooking prices on KL european flight
A friend had booked an O-class roundtrip business ticket from AMS to BER back in September. The fare rules state that it can be rebooked for a 70€ fee.
However when he wants to rebook the ticket he is only quoted around 1000€ per segment - the system only suggests J as new booking class.
He tried online and via platinum hotline - they also quoted the 1000€ per segment rebooking cost. ... - no matter which date combinations he tried.
There are so many connections with free O class pricing out at around 600€.
Is this a common behavior of rebookable tickets or what might be the reason for such a ........ pricing? - ticket had initially cost 650€ - plus 2000€ for rebooking - on a 1,5 hour city hopper flight? Why would he ever book KLM again in the future?
Added info. the original fare he booked is no longer available on the GDS - however many new O fares are filed. Could that be an issue?
Or the old fare had a 7 day advance reservation rule. the flight he tried to rebook is tomorrow. - still the fare rules say changes before departure 70€ - and not changes before advance reservation minimum.
