If by coupon you mean two separate tickets and records (PNRs) then:
1: your bags will not be checked through
2: as long as you have evidence of a second ticket you should be OK
3: any disruption of the first flight will not give you any right to change the second. You might get it as a goodwill gesture but you can't be sure.
