One flight coupon or two for a planned layover?
Hi,
Shall be booking YUL-LHR-India on BA for next October. I shall be deliberately keeping a long layover of about 12 hours to meet friends living near Heathrow enroute to India. I have an option to buy YUL-LHR-India on one coupon or YUL-LHR and LHR-India as two separate coupons. Seek your valuable help:
1. If they are two separate coupons, it is obligatory for BA to book bags all the way to India on request or can the check-in agent refuse. (I’m sure they wont mind checking my bags until India if it is one coupon)
2. I hope it makes no difference whether I hold one coupon for the entire journey or two for me to pass UK border control in both cases during the layover. (I am otherwise eligible to enter UK in transit if I my flight out is until next day’s midnight as I am an Indian holding Canada VISA)
3. In case of a schedule change will my rights differ when trying to rebook depending on whether on one coupon or two? Depending on changed timings I may or may not want to take a layover.
Many Thanks in advance.
Regards
Vik
