Seat Allocations on AA Code Shares

When AA code shares a flight, are specific seats set aside for AA customers? For an upcoming trip NRT-BKK on an AA code share (operated by JO for JL), a search of the C class seat map on expertflyer.com shows only three rows. Obviously, the plane has more than three rows of C seats in any 747 configuration (although I don't know how many, since when I plug it in as a JO or JL flight, expertflyer says it does not have access to JO or JL seat maps). Does that mean that only those specific three rows are available to purchasers of AA tickets on that flight? (As an aside, the first time I plugged it in as a JL flight, expertflyer did pull up the seat map, but that service quickly disappeared. Sorry if that should be posted on the JL forum, but just wondering if anyone knows why?)
