I stayed at the Thompson Houston for my wedding last month. It was just a smidge weird staying at a hotel 15 minutes away from home, but

The lobby is absolutely beautiful.

I booked two nights for 17,000 World of Hyatt points a night (Peak), and applied one of my suite upgrades to the reservation. That was an absolute bargain compared to rack rate of over $600 for a standard room and over $1,000 for the suite. I was assigned 1011, which is one of the hotel’s panoramic suites.

The room was beautiful, spacious, and modern.

The bathroom itself was as big as some hotel rooms I’ve stayed in.

The shower/tub room is awesome.

Lovely views of Buffalo Bayou throughout the room.

As a Houstonian, I loved the views from the restaurant and pool area.

I thought the Globalist breakfast credit of $100 was generous relative to the menu prices. Service was excellent both days.

Overall, I loved the hotel. Rates are steep, especially for Houston, but it’s a fantastic property. Not sure if I’d ever stay again (living down the road and all), but I wouldn’t mind if we did.
