Although I’m sure if other airlines added a nice mattress to their product that would solve things. Agree with service. Used to be consistently personalized and great. Now it’s inconsistent, and when it’s inconsistent I’d rather just have robotic consistency as others have mentioned.
Now that I’m back in NZ I will have to decide on my flying strategy (just dropped to Gold from Elite). I’ll probably send most of it to QF to try get LTG there tbh. Work is 6x flights per year from NZ to various places in Asia in +\- 1x DXB return and +\- 1x Europe return in J and we can chose the carrier as long as the price difference isn’t too much. So really it’s just whether I can be bothered going via AU if I choose QF or stick with NZ or try another Star/OW program.
Take note of the DSC offers then and the tricks you can use to maximise them. They count towards LTG. About 1-2 offers per year Feb/Mar and the recent one in Oct which some people say coincides with the AGM. Only for Qantas metal these days. QF has a better seat in J wide body than NZ but they do not have a better mattress and NZ still tops the sleep experience.
