I would use that offer but it would be a wash with my US bank card I use for utilities. My offer on SYW requires too high a minimum spend as my utilities are about $100 a month combined. I have used the offer in the past but I have three plus years prepaid on my natural gas bill so I'm done doing that for awhile. I can't prepay electricity unfortunately.
some utilities allow you to overpay and then request a check refund. I’ve done this before. I wouldn’t make a habit out of it tho because if you piss off your utility you don’t really have an alternative option.
