LOL love the Yankee Pier comment, I just asked someone about the place! To your point about the runway construction, I started back then looking at alternatives and found that given my proximity to the various airports in the Bay Area I could basically shop around around carriers, pricing, and times. I have found, as others have also commented on, that SJC, SMF, and STS are ridiculously easy to get in and out of with cheaper parking, less traffic and less lines. OAK has it owns issues but in general is pretty easy as well. So if you add the admittedly mild additional hassle factor now at SFO I am pushed even a bit more to avoid it. Having said that I will miss the Yankee Pier....LOL.
