Good the decision has finally been made by SQ, I just wish they had taken this to heart much earlier and made the call 2-3 years ago when the issues with 779 were all over the place already and hard to ignore. That long lasting faith in Boeing was extremely misplaced and the already developed product kept ageing and ageing.
This seat was ready well before Covid and even if it was tweaked and updated a bit along the way, with certification and all one can't make drastic changes. Now passengers may be able to enjoy the product on a few select aircraft by the 2nd half of 2026 with all planes done by 2030, 8-10 years after this product was supposed to be rolled out and installed. Not great honestly.
My thoughts exactly. Obviously we don't have full details of the seats yet but from the renderings it looks very similar to many other seats that are on the market today. Barring any delays, by the time all the a350s have been retrofitted, this seat design would almost be a decade old.
