Unrelated to the issues with cowtool as of late, I have a question:
booked a return flight FCO-YYZ in economy with first leg in August 2024 (flex fare) and return December 2024 (latitude fare). I flew the first leg just fine and got credited SQD as a fraction of the total (I think it's related to distance flown/total distance * total $ spent).
Recently, I changed the return leg by a couple days, paying some extra amount for the change. No change fee because latitude fare and no change in taxes because it's the same exact flight I'll be taking but two days earlier. This new flight is in flex fare however (I confirmed the date, so no necessity for the flexibility anymore).
I should be earning SQD according to the total amount spent on this flight, so this second leg needs to earn an additional amount of SQD. But this means the rule about earning SQD as fraction of the total distance flown no longer applies. In fact, cowtool is still showing me earning the original SQD amount, not the new amount I should be earning.
Not quite sure what to make of this, but I'd love some confirmation about which rule has precedence over which. i.e. will the higher SQD get credited correctly or should I be worried as cowtool displays the old amount still? Will there be an adjustment to my earnings in August to ensure the fraction of distance flown rule is still followed?
Thanks in advance.
