im not disputing your point. what im trying to say is the experience varies. chase is working fine for me, but not you, maybe because of the destination. my experience with hopper isnt the most stellar. and from what i read, the experience with other portals can be hit and miss, so i just use them when it is convenient for me
i guess what i suggesting is instead of locking into 1 portal, maybe be open to a few or even buying directly from airlines, which is my preferred option. the credit card points can be used to redeem award flights if you are unable to spend them.
