I renewed in September and phoned in for a offer. They've given me 5000 or 10,000 points every year so I was really surprised when I was only offered 1000 points (I took it anyway, as this makes the net annual fee $60, meaning the breakeven over my B of A 2.625% platinum rewards card is spending $3200, albeit with the hassles of spending $325 on dining/ travel and text to redeem. Usually I'm chasing a signup bonus but occasionally I have some real large purchase that I can throw onto apple pay.)

The USB AR is one of the most underrated cards, perhaps because bloggers don't get rewarded for pushing it. It's the card I recommend to my friends who want to "keep it simple" and carry only 2-3 cards.
