I'm not sure what the occupancy was for wizla's stay but this hotel would likely often have really high occupancy rates because it is attached to the airport. A lot of flights leave from STN very, very early so people would stay overnight. I would honestly not anticipate any sort of upgrade.
To be fair they usually do preupgrade diamonds to a runway view room a couple of days out but I booked around 7pm and arrived around midnight….it’s amusing @ Hampton Corby, I book an entry level room as my favourite room is this type yet they preupgrade me 72 hours out to a room with sofa bed which I think are actually worse…. I always end up cancelling and re booking to entry level.
