Holiday Inn Eindhoven City Centre
What is your Priority Club status? Platinum
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? standard Double booked, upgraded to king double with city view
How are the rooms?
For a city centre standard business hotel quite big - enough walking around space
Long desk with plenty of power sockets by the coffee machine
Coffee machine, complementary water and chocolate bar on the table, empty mini-fridge, bath robe and slippers.
good shower (although the drain is blocked so needed to speak to reception)
room equipped for 2, even though its single occupancy for me only.
view of the city, although not much to see.
rooms are modern and in good condition, even though it must be 10 years at least since the last refurb.
Public areas have just been refurbished since my last visit in April
How is the exec. lounge?
n/a
What was good and what was bad?
bad
the pool has been closed for >9 months now while they try to fix a leak. At least they’ve updated the website for that.
Secondary door to the car park is now closed without a room key - a longer walk to reception on the first night or before 6am
TV awkwardly placed for connecting my laptop to watch my own entertainment - no where to safely place when cable connected
shower drain blocked but cleared the next day after i asked
could easily support a larger chair or sofa instead of the single small armchair - plenty of floor space. Guess they're saving that for a suite, but if there is a 2nd guest...?
well camouflaged black room light switch in the middle of the dark headboard - unless you know where to look.
the city view has a little noise from passing traffic, the rear (residential) view less so but also less exciting
Air con left the room chilly; even though i set it to 26C to warm up, it never did get much warmer and always reverted back to its default 21.5C within a few hours.
good
comfortable bed
La Trappe Dubbel (and Bock) on draft in the bar

good with upgrades here, even when PSV are playing at home just down the street. But prices rise substantially.
convenient for the town centre.
Plenty of parking spaces with some charging points, but expensive (22/night)
good breakfast.
Plenty of space for "stuff" in the bathroom
TV HDMI ports easy to access
car charging points if you need them.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Yes. This trip around 130/night incl breakfast, another work trip booked in a few weeks.
