TBH I have had incident before in LCY where check in agent lied about checkin close time in order to not let me check in, then deboarded me.
So I side with your side of things, but there is absolutly nothing you can do about it.
That said, a CX Award ticket only cost 40usd to rebook but seems like you have a paid ticket.
