Also don't mean to derail and has anyone been to or have on their radar 呑小路 やま岸 or 惠史?

Nominokoji Yamagishi is by Tominokoji Yamagishi

7K for 4 courses to start + ALC
TL reviews suggest portions small/low cospa and the ALC menu has no prices listed but also there's J-pop background music...

Satoshi, chef did 17 years at Wakuden

5.5K for 3 courses, including the not-quite hassun, + ALC
Reviews all quite positive, and nice that they are supporting Ukrainians
Nice sake cups too https://www.kyoto-satoshi.com/commitment

I'll be doing crab-seki at Ogata the night before so Satoshi the night after would continue the Wakuden 'descendants' them, but Nominokoji would give a taste of Tominokoji which I'll never get into....still leaning towards Satoshi....
