I didn't take the shortest connection so my actual transfer time was quite long. But they calculate only for the shortest connection which was 9h 15 minutes.
I also managed to fit a visit to my grandparents on the other side of the town but then again I grow up in this city. Takes 40 to 60 minutes to reach to hotel depending on the traffic.

Today I asked for my weirdly long economy connection. They do not promise or confirm anything before the day of the travel because "operational changes" can shorten the transfer but at least ticketing agent confirmed at the moment it looks eligible. So if you want to get the free transfer hotel and your flight changes, make double sure it still fits.
