Took aforementioned flight on JQ this morning.

Paid a few bucks for a really good coffee from Fush beforehand. Flight attendants on JQ were remarkably polite and well presented. Carry on was not weighed. Took off and landed ahead of schedule. The clientele were entirely indistinguishable from ANZ, which caught me a bit off guard — although I suppose it’s all business travellers at that time of day. JQ also offers free inflight entertainment on device, movies and shows, etc. — meaning they actually offer above and beyond ANZ on this leg. Only noticeable difference was that the seats were admittedly noticeably smaller — at my height, this isn’t something of concern, especially given I was asleep. And I came out just under $400 ahead.

Looking forward to more flights with them in future when traveling major centres — some rough calculations have me aiming to reduce my ANZ spend by 35% in the next 12 months. If the treatment of HVCs improves, I’d happily look to bring it back. But for now, what they’re doing just isn’t working 👋
