Well, in fairness, not "and" in my experience. There was a time when QR used to load loads of food and you could have effectively what you wanted, but in recent years, they have drastically reduced the quantities and it's to the point when if you want, say, starter and soup, you are often told that it's not possible. This is particularly true for the most popular dishes, so for instance, they don't load enough caviar or lobster for all the people who want them.
Don't take me wrong, this thread is about how annoyed almost all of us are with the BA catering changes and I am no exception, but equally, I see no value in exaggerating the behaviour of the competition to make that point. As it happens, whilst QR has included some eye catching improvements like the caviar and the lobster on some very limited markets (and for the caviar, even on those only from DOH), this has come at the expense of a number of deteriorations too including much more limited loadings than before, many second meals replaced by breakfast or snacks, move to two meals for ultra long flights which once used to get three, deterioration of the fruit plate and cheese plate compared to before, deterioration of the wine list. I like QR a lot and the Q Suite is my favourite J seat and they are clever enough to avoid the equivalent of the supper/brunch fiasco, but they are not entirely immune to the concept of cost-cutting.
