Those are a bit older than I would have gone, but fine for the next ~2-4 years I guess… Still, better than Moto with it’s 1 Android version upgrade / 3 years of updates from release.

I can get the A54 for $240 ($172 USD) of real money, or the A15 for free on my Canadian carrier. When I was still working I always had an Android device as well as an iPhone, my last one was the S20, but I didn't have it for very long before pandemic travel restrictions ended my position there.
The A16: it’s released in a few Asian markets for ~$250. Seems not available in NA yet.

I’d honestly look at something within the last year or so, the A54 is already 1.5y old, with only 5 years total for updates.

Of course, it really comes down to what you want to do with the phone. If it’s just a gadget to play around with, camera isn’t really important… are graphics / etc?

I myself have a Realme (Oppo sub-brand) phone, non-N. American, which I was using briefly as a true smartphone, but shifted it to essentially being a non-data phone for my second SIM. Realised it was a bit annoying managing between it and my iPhone. Still, it was ~US$120, can’t really complain.
