Experiences with XL (130L) rolling duffels-oversized fees or ok within weight?

I'm going to start a nomadic life soon. I'll need to carry a lot of stuff with me unless I decide to get a storage unit and pick a home base city.

I'm hoping to get down to 2x100L bags or preferably a single 130-160L bag that I don't need to pack to the gills. I found the Osprey Sojourn 130L might fit the bill but it's ~75 inches total iirc. Other >100L bags are similar. I have a Brigg's and Riley Torq 29" which claims 110L, but I think there's a lot of waste space in there that I could reclaim with a duffel.

Anyone have thoughts on lugging around one large bag and have suggestions? My concern is even if I keep it to 70lbs or under (United's weight maximum) I'll still need to pay for the dimensions.
