Why I didn't use GE:
The number of Global Entry kiosks at airports has decreased because of a shift to facial recognition technology:

    The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (C.B.P.) has phased out self-service passport kiosks and is instead installing cameras next to customs officers at international airports. The goal is to verify the faces of almost all incoming travelers.
