Just returning from a brilliant stay at Grand Hyatt Tokyo. Appreciate all the guidance via this thread; we were VERY pleased with our decision to stay at GH vs other Hyatt options in Tokyo.

This was a leisure stay for us, and we initially debated between Ginza (Centric) or GH. Andaz was unavailable via redemption and PH of course is under renovation currently.

While every stay has its own purpose, this one was a leisure stay for us. In short, GH really is a luxury hotel experience. I had some concerns about the property being dated based on other reviews I read, but I can safely say that this property is stunning. Yes it may not be the newest kid on the block but the bones of the hotel are stunning. I will try to write up a comprehensive review soon but in the meantime these are my observations;

- Location to me was exactly what I wanted. As a pleasure stay I found the location convenient yet removed from the chaos. The area is a very high end expat / residential and corporate area that is filled with great restaurants. We visited Ginza and glad we didn’t stay there (personal opinion).

- Luxe experience. GH feels like a Four Seasons in terms of service, polish , amenities etc.

- If you’re a Globalist, or book Grand Club, you will not be disappointed. I now skip most lounges as they tend to be overrun with kids and bad food but this club even beats most Ritz clubs I’ve experienced. Real French Champagne (Roederer currently on offer), high quality food offerings and excellent service should be expected! This was a nice place to have a pre dinner glass of champagne or quick morning bite.

- The spa / fitness area is next level!

- Dining options were world class; loved the Moduro bar

- Not far from Shibuya and Harijuku- great spots for dining and shopping. Highly recommend the Nezu museum and the adjacent lovely shopping area!

- Rooms are average size but very very comfortable with excellent amenities. We loved the linens, bath products, shower.

We will definitely return to GH! Don’t hesitate if trying to decide between Hyatt Tokyo options. While Centric may better suit some who want to be in the heart of Ginza, you likely won’t get the level of amenities, dining and frills of GH.
