But even besides that pretty much everyghing Ultis got, so did plat:
  • Extra bags.
  • Fee free award cancelations.
  • Fee free seat selections, and both get to pick seats blocked for others in long haul.

Yes, Ultis get upgrade vouchers, but given the amount of extra flying, it seems justifiable to keep that gap. Change of flight on the day of travel, same story as far as I see it. Free wifi, well, next year after Starlink that won't be an added benefit.

I think this gripe that Plats don't get enough and Ultis get it all is not justified, when you consider the amount of AFKL only travel needed to get to Ulti.

That said, I do think the gap between gold and plat needs to increase. But to me, personally, the amount of XP/UXP needed to get to plat also seems imbalanced now that Ulti exists. In my opinion, if more Plat advantages are to be introduced, then perhaps a minimum UXP for plats should become a thing too. What's the point of someone being plat with AFKL while earning it all at ITA, for example?
would like to say the fee free seat selection has always been a platinum benefit, ever since the programme started.
