My advice to anyone with cancellations is to not call the Call Center or WhatsApp. They are woeful and will be limited with you.
Instead email your e-ticket details to
[email protected] and tell them what you’d like the new routing to be. Include the routing and fare classes; being exact helps.
For example my return flight CMB-AUH was cancelled on 11th November, but the CGK-CMB is still operating, so after a quick email, I am now routing back CGK-CMB-DOH-AUH with CMB-DOH-AUH all on QR (I class and A class respectively).
They of course had UL flying to DOH as well an hour earlier but I just asked for what I wanted and they responded back with the change within an hour by email.
