Question about BA898/889

Am planning on going to TIP with a friend. We want to visit Leptis Magna and see the country. Has anybody had experience traveling to/from TIP (post-sanctions)? I hear the Libyan people are excited about the possibility of a tourist industry and are going out of their way to make foreigners feel welcome. In fact, some friends (US citizens) recently went there and said it was fabulous.

Now to the question about BA898/889. Since TIP isn't exactly the same thing as flying to CDG, does this flight run on time? The reason I ask is that I have scheduled a three-hour layover (couldn't be avoided anyway due to timing) in LHR. I know air travel within Libya is difficult. Will this be enough time for a transfer from T1 to T4 in time for our flight back to JFK? If not, I'll have to forgo BA F and fly the Bearded One's airline in the abysmal J2000 seat (I don't have anything against UCS though!)

In case of the inevitable warning (if you have noted where my location is) the Israeli passport stamp issue may be brought up. While I have a second passport, it has one stamp from TLV in it (forgot to ask for it not to be stamped). This rule can be skirted as the couple said that when they sent their passport to the Libyan embassy in Canada for a visa, tour operators have some sort of informal "arrangement" to ignore any Israeli stamps for what amounted to be only 50 dollars on top of the normal visa fee. They each had 5 stamps in their passports and said they did not experience a problem in TIP immigration.
