Can you fly BOS-JFK (or LGA) one evening, then onwards from JFK the next day? Maybe you can find someone you need to see or meet with in NY overnight. And the airport hotels are usually pretty reasonable at LGA and JFK -- see Priceline experts (e.g. biddingfortravel.com) for help.
