I do most of my long haul flying on KQ due to my base at present, usually with short haul on KL into/out of the UK. Have been using them for the past few years now as I’ve been able to get some really good fares.

KQ has recently updated their website and I had to book some business travel the other day. I had the choice of Business Lite or Super Flex fares. On all previous bookings, luggage, lounge, ST benefits have been the same. Now it is the case that Business Lite fares no longer come with luggage included in the fare automatically. Going through all of the booking stages on the website, including inserting my FB PLAT number, you are given the choice of purchasing extra baggage even after payment confirmed. Just to confirm, read your e-ticket sent to your email. As long as you have added your FB PLAT membership number, you still get two free bags at 32kg. There is one discrepancy however. Checking on the KL website to choose a seat on one of my KL flights as part of the itinerary, it shows 3 bags throughout.

As I said, hopefully useful for some others. Some of these KQ J fares are extremely good for racking up the FB XPs. The only other downside that I can see to these fares is that you don’t get the 150% miles as you would for Super Flex.
