there are certain providers that are good in particular regions (while bad at others). hence sites like esimdb.com help, plus word of mouth here

on android side:
only samsung S24 or newer*
only pixel 7 or later AND carrier allows (this plus the backup calling fiasco, sigh)

*except phones that dont have esim i.e. china models

othermodels with esim, generally support esim + physical sim together (but not dual esim)#
