Yes, I think you are correct about the routing. BAEC does charge 36,000 Avios for a one-way with that routing in Economy:




What is shocking to me is how much BA now charges for this award. If the OP ever needs to redeem Avios for a similar routing, he should check to see whether the Finnair Plus program -- to which BAEC Avios are now transferrable -- has the same availability. Finnair Plus would only charge 15,000 Avios for HNL-XXX-YVR under its current redemption scheme:
