Back in 2008 I had an ANC-PSG nonstop on the combi. Made one pass at JNU during a wicked dose of Taku winds and ended up diverting. AS told us we could stick around and maybe try again the next day with them, or they'd put on on the overnight ferry back to Juneau. We ended up on the ferry. It's amazing what technology lets them get through these days in SEAK, but sometimes the weather still wins.
Yes. There are too many Mt. St. Too Close For Comforts with unpredictable winds. For those that have never flown in/out of these airports on a clear day, you'll not appreciate the comment!
