Goes back to the days when a pax could bring his/her EtOh (chemical code for alcohol) product on to his/her seat: But It was when the pax got drunk, FA's were uninvolved as to why it happened (since they hadn't served it), and things got out of hand. I get that. So the remedy is what we have: No EtOh, as we have it with all the carriers today, unless served by the airline---and most of them are doing their own thing as to how much they will serve (I have been refused an extra Bacardi 30 ml miniature once on a 5 Hr flight to HI). If you want to ask, I will disclose the carrier, but the carriers seem to leave discretion to the FA's serving the fluids. Good luck if an FA can't judge if a pax is getting drunk, but that is a judgment that is theirs.

I think you can bring all the caviar you want, as long as you don't make a scene about it and don't disrupt the service by the FA's to the rest of the PAX. As for EtOh, I dunno. I'm from Hawaii and like Mai Tai's as a local preference, Can't get it on most mainland carriers, except for HA. So, I bring my own my own MaiTai mix, and add it to Bacardi, after served by my FA. Seems to not offend anybody, nor does it offend the regulators, since I was served by the airline, just with added non-EtOh.

Comments welcome.
