I'd be nervous if checking a bag, unless you're on the first departure to SJO and staying in San Jose. If you're immediately traveling onward from there, it could be hard for your bag to catch up with you. If not checking, and you arrive and depart from the North Terminal, you'll make it. If you have to transit between high E gates and low D gates, it's a hike. They'll generally wait for connecting passengers provided you arrive on time.
