I am not sure I understand what you are saying. Can you link to or quote from the fine print? Perhaps it’s simply the current policy where award flights don’t earn EQMs? It’s pretty clear AS is giving EQMs for awards next year, and there is no “required mileage flown” - you can earn all EQMs with other means (partners).
