If you book an LH-operated flight on an LH ticket, then the earnings will be based on distance and fare class rather than fare paid. That can be good or bad.

If it was in fare class V, it wasn't full-fare economy.

This calculator can help you decide.

Note that if you choose a UA-operated flight, then your earnings for that flight are based upon the fare UA receives no matter who ticketed it, and if you buy your ticket from United, then your earnings are based upon the fare no matter who flies it.
