Weather doesn’t need to be at operating minimums to cause delays and cancellations. I think anyone who flies even semi regularly is probably aware of that, especially if you pass thro busy airports like LHR or AMS.
Moreover, weather conditions can result in requirements to reduce the number of planes landing at e.g. LHR without particularising which planes. The choice is for BA. The cancellations are still weather related, even though other flights went.
