Yes, that would work: HKG --> CAN, and SZX ---> AKL...if those two non-stop flights: you can get a 144hr TWOV at CAN.

You are arriving in China at HAK, and are then transferring within China: you can't do that on anything other than a 24hr TWOV. You can't first get a 24hr TWOV at HAK and then a 144hr TWOV at PEK, because you didn't arrive at PEK internationally.
