Yes, you can use the dedicated short connection transfer points. Look out for the signs when you start walking in the terminal after disembarking the aircraft.
With 1 hour I wouldn't worry too much; is def. doable. Also often flights from Asia come in early/are able to make up any delay enroute.
No golf cart/buggy on offer (and you don't need it).
If your bags don't make it at IST you file a report with TK ground staff at JFK. TK has 3 daily flights to JFK so you will soon be reunited with your luggage in the US.

Thanks for the reassurance. I was also hoping we’d make up some time, however there’s a serious headwind today and we re-routed away from Iran, which of course added extra time. I do think if I hustle, I’ll be able to make it (as long as the delayed doesn’t further increase of course), but thank you, and yes I’m def trying to still enjoy the flight!
