if things go like this, get a Samsung A series that has more than 4GB ram. Recent ish A series should get 4 year upgrade and one additional year security update (5 total), ideally 8GB so that it lasts, the lower end still has 3.5mm and microsd
Moto usually has 1 year upgrade and 2 additional years update (3 total), so not as good.
Most of the cameras are good enough for daylight photos, unless your dogs are very active and move fast

I guess your budget under $150? Samsung A25 is $299 bestbuy 6GB ram, 3.5mm and microsd, maybe a black Friday deal? What provider are they using? Some providers have good deals, can get A25 cheaper than that
