ITA number can be added to China Eastern reservation on the Middle Eastern Airways website under "Manage my booking" - it also works on the SAS website.
It sticks to the reservation (confirmed on Saudia and Garuda Indonesia website) - don't know if it will be automatically used for the boarding card - but a friend will report in two weeks.
thanks for the info! I tried with the eticket number (CE doesn’t give PNR), and my last name but the website wasn’t able to retrieve my booking. So I reckon maybe it doesn’t work for everyone…
