Ah, the predecessor to Club World.
It had bench seats with adjustable armrests which allowed the seats to be used for both business and peasant class.
My first eastbound transatlantic flight was in Super Club on a BA L-1011 from JFK to LHR in 1981 (I think). It was dreadful. Apart from the TriStar being a dog, the Club seat was very wide (21"?) - much slipping and sliding even for me - but with economy knee room (which was more then than now but still limited).
As I had been upgraded outbound - my first westbound ended up First on a TWA 747 - I noticed the contrast.
At least, I earned miles! In those days, BA were partners in the UA and PA schemes, long before they decided to bring FF joys to the UK.
Things have moved on a little ...
