Just confirming I am reading the newest rules right that while points go back and no cancellation fee I am typing up taxes and fees with JetBlue. I have over 100k JetBlue points so thinking of make some speculative reservations but want to know what happens to the cash (some international destinations have a lot of taxes to book)
Jetblue needs a ton of quality executive help. I recently canceled a flight several months after making the reservation (like I have done routinely). Points go back to my account and taxes/fees supposed to go to my travel bank. Immediately went to book a flight at a much lower rate. Nothing in the travel bank. We aren't talking a few bucks here but over $200. So I got on a chat with a rep (after waiting two hours) who told me the money went to my credit card. Takes seven days to show up on my credit card so of course I couldn't verify if it was true or not. Then I was in panic mode because if the money didn't go to my credit card and ended up in my travel bank some time later I was screwed. So I contacted the executive office who told me it was going to my credit card even though it really wasn't supposed to. I can't believe that the government allows them to keep taxes and fees from unused travel bank funds. Good luck to Jetblue on becoming a "premium" airline. I don't see it ever happening with the current leadership.
